A Nonprofit will have better success raising money and getting volunteers when people freely endorse them. As the director of a nonprofit, you might contact an artist you know of find on this website - HELPS-Austin. It is in your interest to affiliate with artists who as members of the Austin community, endorse and educate the public about your nonprofit and share how you fulfill your mission making Austin a safer place for everyone.
A nonprofit director must register to participate in HELPS-Austin. We will need additional contact information about you (the director) so the public facing information on this site is congruent with official public documents filed with the Texas Secretary of State.
Our first mission is to educate Austin residents about Austin nonprofit programs. We encourage people to make small donations to the dedicated service providers in our community.
Our second mission is to brighten peoples' lives and help them feel good about themselves. We use the time people spend waiting for services in their daily lives: medical appointments. service appointments, waiting for food or a table at a restaurant to brighten their day. Donate a dollar and feel better all day. We make it easy.
Our third mission is to support Austin's art community. Our virtual gallery has art curated by nonprofit directors - you - so the public expects to see fresh and interesting art they want in their businesses and homes.
Our fourth mission is to brighten up the walls of medical facilities. COVID19 has forced medical facilities to remove magazines and other distractions from waiting and exam rooms. And while useful for the medical visit, anatomy charts are rarely engaging or uplifting.
Here is how it works: A QR code overprinted on our art is a doorway into the HELPS-Austin virtual gallery. Then our gallery live on a webpage in that person's mobile device. Beside brightening up the décor, art inspires the client or patient and information about nonprofits also inspires. It's an uplifting message where everyone benefits.
Business owners choose the art on their walls from our portfolio of local artists. The art reflects the tastes of the business owner. HELPS-Austin art prints establishes a positive public profile for each participating business, the artist AND the nonprofit - it all HELPS-Ausitn.
While people wait: people can browse art and learn about nonprofit programs. They can gift a dollar or two or ten to a nonprofit they want to support while they wait, or later at home. When those donations reach a certain threshold, the donor receives a premium - a print by a local artist they choose. They can also visit an artist's website and buy original art. People can buy a print from HELPS-Austin and that provides income for the artist and HELPS-Austin.
To receive donations a nonprofit must be a 501c3 nonprofit corporation registered in the state of Texas. Federal tax exempt status must be at least applied for before any donations will be forwarded to the non-profit mailing address of directly deposited to the nonprofit bank account. We will contact you at after you register to arrange how you receive donations channeled through HELPS-Austin.
